potty training, here we come!
i was going to wait until we were done with school for the year, but jax had other plans. last night he found his football toilet seat, and lo and behold, he actually used it. this morning, he didn't even want a diaper on. he's had more misses than hits...um, no pun intended. he has tried to go by himself, he's cried when he's had an accident and sometimes he doesn't care...so we'll see how it goes.
about this boy thing.
last night when he went for the first time ever, i sort of forgot about the difference in girls and boys--meaning, all of a sudden i looked down and his shirt was getting wet. in my defense, he had told me he had to do the other thing...you know, p.o.o.p, so i wasn't even thinking about pee pee or his or where it was pointing. so out of pure reaction i just pushed the thing down and waited til he was finished. but there has to be some other way, yeah?
so tell me--
what are your boy training, lessy messy secrets?
ps do you love the ghetto hole in the wall?
the toilet paper holder has been remounted like 3 times
and every time the kids push and pull on it getting on and off the toilet...
and back down it comes.
and yes, i know the toilet seat needs replaced.
eek. but it is clean.

when judah was getting familiar with the potty we would face him the opposite way so his "stream" didn't get all over his legs and pants. He was also able to get his legs wider that way. Once he got the potty thing down we got him a little stool and he climbs up on it and lifts the lid and goes in there. He needs help with the old pants, but drew was insistent he stand and pee as soon as he was able lol.
and we only use the potty seat thing for numero dos. he cries every time we pull it out b/c he hates to go in the toilet. and GO JAX! :)
its a good start that he at least wants to use the toilet and isn't afraid of it. I know he will do great :)
Wow! Go Jax! My boys were terribly hard to potty train, so I'm in awe that Jax has taken interest and is using it. So...Yes the penis must be pointed down either by you or by him or you helping him. Otherwise it's pee everywhere. I'm also the mom who has her boys always sit down at home to avoid pee splashage (my own made up word). They pee standing up only in public to avoid icky toilets. I'll have you know their father does same thing as does their grandpa (my dad). Both men do it for the love of their wives having to clean the bathrooms. Love those men!
Wow. Reed is not eve ready yet! And, you'd think I wouldn't be, but I am dreading it!!! Our seats came with a little splash guard. When they stopped using the seats I was always reminding them to "point down." :) When they were tall enough to stand, then we allowed it. It's just easier that way.
