our first real snow of the year, and the girls couldn't be happier. ali was even giddy. "oh! i didn't know it snowed on the roof!" "look, mommy! a little snow on the sign!" they were ready to go play, but ali and jax didn't have snow boots yet this year.
they happen to have a very sweet daddy who stopped by target on the way home and brought them some new boots!
jax was already asleep.
ok.
i'm going to jump the tracks on my train of thought for a moment--
jax fell asleep in time out...with maddox's pacifier. in his mouth.
i have a paranoia about getting hooked on the pacifier (well, not me getting hooked)
so jaxon's was gone before he was 1.
i think it was 6-8 mos or so.
anyway,
it's apparently still soothing, because this is how i found him:
*~*~*jumping back to my previous train of thought*~*~*
so the girls geared up and headed out to play in the snow with daddy
while i stayed inside and kept maddox company.
things started off tame,
and quickly escalated into some serious snowball throwing.
after daddy threw a snowball at me and baby max, ali decided we needed more thrown at us:
can you see the orneriness or what?!
of course syd didn't want to miss out, so we got nailed again...
but rest assured, we were safe behind the glass storm door.
boy am i glad you can't see how dirty it actually is.
ok, i really don't care, it just explains the less than clear pictures.
sorry, i'm rambling again.
with a smile, they were off again
daddy gave them a lesson in snow angels 101,
and then the snowballing resumed, with even more ferocity...
followed by some snow mermaids...that was a new one!
i outlined them because it's so hard to see--
you're welcome.
and then they finished things off by throwing snow into daddy's face
over.and.over.
he's so sweet. i would have feigned frost bite 45 minutes before then.
jason spent nearly 12 full hours out in the snow today.
most of them were at work, with lots of heavy manual labor.
i am so very thankful that he works so hard for us and still makes time to play with his kids.
there is nothing more endearing than watching him with them. i am blessed beyond measure.

Love the snow mermaids!
You take such amazing photos... of course I'm sure your cute little "subjects" make it easy to capture.
