this morning, i remembered that i never posted about a ruffle scarf i made in december!
i made two hats on one of those knifty knitter sets
that i used to make the cocoon for jaxon's newborn pictures,
one for me, to be used as a dread hat for the sweet dreads i wish i had...
and one as a birthday present for my friend jess, who digs the dread hat style.
they're easy to make and all, but there are really big gaps and so they're not very warm.
they also stretch because of the type of yarn used, and even if i did have dreads,
this hat wouldn't be deep enough. i need this instead.
i digress.
so anyway, i really wanted a scarf to match it. i found this pattern for a ruffle scarf.
it looked super easy, so i decided to try it out.
it was easy, but it was really time (and yarn!) consuming.
it's super long, (like, past my knees and i'm 5'5 1/2)
and had i taken the time to realize how long it really was,
i would have shortened it and it would have gone a lot faster!
i love the colors in it, though and i have missed crocheting ever since.
ps the red in these pictures look awful on my uncalibrated monitor and it makes me cringe to even post them. so. if they're awful, i apologize. i don't know what they *really* look like...but it's gotta be better than what i'm seeing!
