my first boy is two

jaxon turned two on the 10th of this month!

if you remember, we had his party a couple weeks early with judah.

we began the day with cinnamon rolls,

and when daddy got home, jax got to open his presents:

a healthy dose of spiderman for almost everyone...

...max was happy just to watch. =)

 after some yummy cupcakes, we loaded up and headed to the zoo.

perfect timing, because it was the last day our membership was good!

it was max's first trip...

and boy was he stoked!

it had been awhile since jax had been,

but the animals didn't phase him!

 only missing one...

there he is!

jax, 

i thought raising boys would be easier than raising girls.

it is, because there is far less drama. 

it isn't, because you are busy non stop. 

you have had a chipped tooth since you were probably around 1. 

you stop my heart, and i don't know how we haven't been to the hospital yet...

but you are the sweetest, most loving boy.

i love your ornery smile.

i love how you love to 'nuggle' mommy with a 'bankie'.

you're the typical younger brother, tagging along with your sisters,

but you're already a protective older brother, too, and i love you for it.

you're 110% boy, and i love, love watching you grow.

3 months

the other day, i realized i had better take a few quick snap shots of maddox since he is already three months old...and he changes so fast.

as much as i love the newborn stage, i love this age even more.

i used to stare at him while he was sleeping, 

hold him when i should be catching up on housework...

because none of that mattered.

the snuggly stage has always been so fleeting--

and i have never taken it for granted.

i still watch him while he sleeps, 

and i kiss and admire every little dimple and roll daily.

but now,

he's interactive, and i love seeing his personality emerge.

he smiles when he sees me, laughs when i kiss him.

he grabs my face when i put it close to his.

he's proud of himself when he rolls over,

and works hard to try and sit up so that he doesn't miss anything.

he's already wanting to keep up with his brother and sisters.

he is the most laid back, happiest baby i've had.

i can lay him down awake and if he fusses at all,

it's only for a few minutes.

he's truly a dream, and i am so thankful.

i love you, maddox john.

day 46: the last 'first'

jax was happy to celebrate his last 'first' before he turns one...

as we found out, he loves, loves balloons.

so much so, that he popped it less than 24 hrs after getting it...

so he did what any brother would do--

threw a fit for his sisters' balloons!

5 Months

My handsome little man turned 5 months old yesterday, so we went out front and snapped a few pictures. Way to be on time, right?!

He's definitely all boy, and not a sissy one at that! In fact, the other day, he woke up while I was doing laundry (I know, big surprise!) and the girls crawled into his crib. They sat him up in the corner and were jumping around. They thought it was funny when he would fall over, so they would set him back up. Well, he fell forward and hit his mouth on the crib railing. Jason had just come home and hearing that he was up, went in there to check on him. Blood was coming out of his mouth, but he wasn't crying. When we looked closer, we found that he had torn his upper labial frenum a little bit. He's made it bleed once since then, but other than that there haven't been any issues and for that I am thankful. It gave us a little scare, but from what I hear, that's what boys do--hurt themselves. I guess I better get used to it.

On the other hand, he so incredibly sweet and lovey. He's such a very happy little man, but he's ready to be bigger so he can keep up with his sisters and eat big boy stuff...

...like leaves.

*Uh, sorry about the spit up on his shirt. It's a regular occurrence. I can't keep him dry!

4 Months

This is a little late...ok, more than a little.

At least I made it before he turned 5 months!

2 & 3 Months Old

Wow, I'm really behind...like at least a month. After the giveaway is over, I will be back tracking some more, so be prepared! I don't want that post to fall off the page though, so for now, here is Jaxon at 2 and 3 months:

He's getting so big. I can hardly believe it. Can I just say how much it melts my heart to look at my son and see my husband? Everything from his hands, to the way he curls his toes...it's all Jason, and so incredibly precious.

That means he's
5 weeks old
TODAY.

Slow down, time.

Don't go so fast.

I think the next time I blink,
he'll be crawling...
and then walking
and talking,
keeping up with his sisters, who are growing up way too fast as well...

I think my only consolation is,
It just keeps getting better.

How can I complain about that?

1 Week Old

It's hard to believe, but it's already been a week! I waited until tonight when my house is dark to take pictures, so they aren't the greatest by far, but he's so cute that I can't resist posting them anyway! He seems to change day by day. He's still a very laid back baby, and we have fixed our day-and-night mix up.

*Little Mannerisms*
*His hands always have to be by his face. He sleeps on them, sucks on them, and smacks himself in the face with them when he sneezes.
*He smiles in his sleep...a lot. Oh, and of course when Mommy gives him kisses.

Almost One

I thought I had forgotten to take Ali's 11 month pictures, so I decided to snap a few this morning. It turns out I already took them, but these turned out cute, so I thought I'd share. =) She wasn't happy at first, but she ended up being cooperative!

9 Months Old

I've been taking picture of Ali every month since she's been born. I hadn't done them yet for this month (big surprise), so I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather today. She turned 9 months on the 22nd.
