IMG_3763_2731

I'm officially caught up.
Here's hoping this week brings a brand new
"Piece of Me".

Pieces of Me--Week 6: My Valentine

week6
Valentine's Day marks the anniversary of Jason and I's engagement.
Not usually one to do something like this on a traditional day,
It took me back when he began to propose.
Me, being a natural skeptic, tried to pull him back up as he began to go down on one knee.
You shouldn't trifle with a girl's feelings.
He wasn't trifling.
He was serious.
Here we are now, three years later,
Living the happily ever after.

Pieces of Me--Week 4: Captive

Week4
Winter "Wonder"land--

I wonder when it will end?

Bring back my sunny, warm days.

Yes, that is a scarf tied around my hands.
Like my symbolism?

No worries. Happy posts to come.

Pieces of Me: Week 3

Week3
I'm a week behind.
Last week was toooo crazy to try and do this. This picture is representative of that, but it's also two-fold:
First, let me briefly explain my week...It all began two weeks ago. My Mom called to tell me Dora, my Grandpa's wife, was in the hospital and not doing well. We thought it was a complication from her recent hysterectomy. She actually had Meningitis and passed away from it the next morning. She was only 40.
Here is where this picture comes into play. I kept getting phone call after phone call of her declining condition, until the final one where I was told there wasn't any brain activity. In between all of those calls, I was told of health concerns with members of Jason's side of the family.
I was so done answering the phone that day. The news only got worse.
The week following Dora's passing (last week) was stressful as it always is when planning a funeral.
However (!), we were very blessed to have help from Jason's parents and our church for the funeral luncheon, which in turn freed Jason and I up to serve our family, and we are very thankful.

The other part to this: I hate talking on the phone. I would rather text 99% of the time...unless it's just way too long to text. The only person I don't regularly text is my Dad...because it's not his thing. =)

52 Pieces--Week 2: One Thing

Week2
Cravings? No way. Never had 'em...
Until baby boy. I've wanted unsweetened iced tea from the beginning.
It's served me well.

52 Pieces of Me--Week 1

Who I am is what I live, but there are so many more facets to me that I can't begin to articulate. I have dreams, ideas, goals and ambitions, all separate from who I want to be as a Mom, yet my inspiration, motivation, and feelings within stem from me as a Mom. As I mentioned before, the two are interchangeable and multi-faceted.

Perfection.
Not me, but His design.

I was going to post this on my other blog as the opening post, but since I'm not going to keep that one, I decided to do it here.

I joined a group on Flickr entitled "52 Pieces of Me". You're supposed to post one picture every week showing some 'piece' of you. I think it will be fun to post mine here, too. I'll post a piece of me every week, and hopefully they will get more creative as I go. =)

If you want to do it too, I would dig that--
Even if it isn't every week.
